Advanced Practice Provider (PA/ NP- Acute Care) Cardiothoracic Surgery III

About the role

Cleveland Clinic's Department of Regional Cardiothoracic Surgery is seeking Physician Assistants or Nurse Practitioners (Acute Care) to join their team at Mercy Hospital. These providers will work in the Cardiothoracic OR, performing first assist roles alongside surgeons.

Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough medical histories and physical examinations.
• Initiate appropriate lab, radiology tests, and other special tests as needed.
• Interpret lab data and develop a treatment plan in collaboration with the healthcare team.
• Prescribe and monitor medications as permitted by license.
• Educate patients about their conditions, treatments, and potential side effects.
• Participate in medical team rounds and collaborate with nursing and other healthcare professionals.
• Refer patients to specialists as necessary.
• Serve as a liaison between patients and other members of the care team.
• Monitor patient outcomes and ensure quality care.
• Support professional development of the healthcare team.
• Engage in research and assist in data collection and analysis.
• Assist in training students and new caregivers.

Requirements

• Graduate of an A.R.C. approved Physician Assistant Program.
• Master’s degree in Physician Assistant Studies or higher degree from a recognized program.
• Licensed to practice and prescribe in the applicable states.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association.
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) or Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification through the American Heart Association, or Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) through the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP).
• Current DEA license or DEA designee as required by NCQA.
• Related clinical experience preferred.

Pay

Minimum Annual Salary: $101,900.00 Maximum Annual Salary: $173,220.00 The pay range displayed on this job posting reflects the anticipated range for new hires. Actual compensation may be higher or lower based on factors such as job responsibilities, relevant experience, and location.
