Advanced Practice Provider (NP/PA) - Radiation Oncology - Outpatient

This position is located in West Bend, WI and Menomonee Falls, WI at Froedtert West Bend and Menomonee Falls Hospitals.

About the Role

The Advanced Practice Provider (APP) works as part of a multidisciplinary health care team contributing to excellence in program administration, patient care, patient safety, research, quality improvement, and teaching within the Department of Radiation Oncology.

• Partners with interdisciplinary teams to diagnose and treat conditions requiring radiation oncology intervention across ambulatory and inpatient settings.
• Performs comprehensive histories and physical exams; orders, performs, and interprets diagnostic tests; develops and monitors pharmaceutical and non-pharmaceutical treatment plans; and performs appropriately credentialed procedures.
• Documents accurately and timely within the EMR, including progress notes, procedure notes, and admission/transfer orders.
• Educates and counsels patients and families on disease processes, treatment plans, preventive care, and promotes continuity of care across the continuum.
• Meets all regulatory, privileging, and training requirements (including CMS and Joint Commission standards) while maintaining ongoing professional development and contributing to quality improvement initiatives.

Qualifications

Preferred Experience

Preference will be given to practitioners with prior experience in radiation oncology.

Minimum Education

• Advanced Practice Nurse: Master’s Degree or higher in Nursing from a nationally accredited organization.
• Physician Assistant: Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Physician Assistant Studies from an ARC-PA-accredited organization.

• Advanced Practice Nurse/Advanced Practice Nurse Practitioner:
  • Wisconsin RN License or eligible
  • Wisconsin Advanced Practice Nurse Prescriber License
  • DEA Registration
  • American Heart Association Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
  • American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS)
  • Nurse Practitioner Certification from a nationally accredited professional nursing organization
• Physician Assistant:
  • Wisconsin Physician Assistant License or eligible
  • DEA Registration
  • Certification by National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA)
  • American Heart Association Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
