About the role

The Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at the University of Virginia, located in beautiful Charlottesville, VA, seeks a Certified Nurse Midwife for a full-time appointment in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology.

Responsibilities

  • Full-scope obstetrical and well-women gynecological healthcare in a midwifery clinical practice that provides outpatient ambulatory visits, 24/7 call coverage and in-hospital deliveries.
  • Performing labor and delivery triage.
  • Educating residents and medical, nurse practitioner, and midwifery students.
  • Developing women's ambulatory service programs.
  • Community outreach.
  • Participating in departmental activities, including research.

Requirements

  • Experience: 2+ years of prior experience, background in an academic medical center or working with learners preferred.
  • Licensure/Certifications: Group Prenatal care, IBCLC.

Qualifications

  • Education: Graduate of an accredited graduate school of nursing or physician assistant program with a master’s degree.
  • Licensure: License or license eligible as an Advance Practice Provider (Nurse Practitioner, Physician Associate, Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist, and Certified Nurse Midwife) as set forth by the state of Virginia.
