Responsibilities

  • Assesses, plans, implements and evaluates care for individual patients
  • Initiates and documents appropriate interventions; evaluates and records patient/family response within practice protocol; prescribes drug therapies per protocol/physician consultation
  • Affords assistance to physicians and performs procedures as needed
  • Affords assessments of patient/family needs and provides education
  • Promotes wellness and recommends community resources to meet patient and family needs
  • Incorporates evidence-based research into clinical practice
  • Completes patient charge tickets
  • Serves as a resource person for the nursing staff by providing information being studied in clinical trials
  • May supervise the activities of clinical nursing

Qualifications

  • Aprn: Successful completion of Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) from an accredited program; Nationally certified as AGNP, ANP, FNP, AGNP, or GNP; Active State of Nevada Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) and Registered Nurse (RN) license
  • Pa-c: Successful completion of a course of training in residence as a physician assistant approved by one of the following entities affiliated with the American Medical Association or its successor organization: The Committee on Allied Health Education and Accreditation or is successor organization The Committee on Allied Health Education and Accreditation or is successor organization The Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Program or its successor organization The Accreditation Review Commission on Education for the Physician Assistants or its successor organization The National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants or its successor organization
  • Certified by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants or its successor organization
