Advanced Practice Provider - Northwest

Responsibilities

Assesses, plans, implements and evaluates care for individual patients
Initiates and documents appropriate interventions; evaluates and records patient/family response within practice protocol; prescribes drug therapies per protocol/physician consultation
Assists physicians and performs procedures as needed
Assesses patient/family needs and provides education
Promotes wellness and recommends community resources to meet patient and family needs
Incorporates evidence-based research into clinical practice
Supports and adheres to the US Oncology Compliance Program, to include the Code of Ethics and Business Standards

Qualifications

• Aprn: Successful completion of Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) from an accredited program
  Nationally certified as AGNP, ANP, FNP, AGNP, or GNP
  Active State of Nevada Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) and Registered Nurse (RN) license
• Pa-c: Successful completion of a course of training in residence as a physician assistant approved by one of the following entities affiliated with the American Medical Association or its successor organization: The Committee on Allied Health Education and Accreditation or is successor organization
  Certified by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants or its successor organization

Preferable Qualifications and Experience

• Two or more years of clinical experience in outpatient oncology setting as an APP
• AOCNP certification (Once eligible, obtainment of AOCNP certification required)

Physical Demands

Requires full range of body motion including handling and lifting patients, manual and finger dexterity, and eye-hand coordination.
Requires standing and walking for extensive periods of time.
Occasionally lifts and carries items weighing up to 40 lbs.
Requires corrected vision and hearing to normal range.

Work Environment

Exposure to communicable diseases, toxic substances, ionizing radiation, medical preparations, and other conditions common to an oncology/hematology clinic environment.
