Role Overview
This position involves providing comprehensive healthcare in designated primary or specialty areas, including patient diagnosis, treatment, education, and referrals. The role serves as a clinical resource, role model, and leader for practitioners and students, ensuring high-quality patient care.
Responsibilities
- Perform clinical duties such as history taking, physical exams, assessments, and diagnostics to establish diagnoses and care plans.
- Accurately document health information, manage time efficiently, and collaborate with physicians and team members for optimal patient outcomes.
- Engage patients and families in care planning, education, and self-management strategies.
- Support interdisciplinary collaboration to promote quality care and patient satisfaction.
- Stay informed on advancements through continued education, seminars, and professional activities.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant laws, policies, and accreditation standards, maintaining current licensure and certifications.
- Identify workflow improvements to enhance departmental effectiveness and provide excellent customer service.
- Contribute to departmental goals, participate in meetings, and support organizational mission and objectives.
Qualifications & Skills
- For Physician Assistants: Bachelor's degree, ARC-PA recognized program, current Texas licensure, and NCCPA certification.
- For APRNs: Master's degree in nursing, current RN and APRN licensure from Texas, and certification as Nurse Practitioner or Clinical Nurse Specialist in relevant specialties.
- Healthcare provider BLS certification.
- Strong clinical, leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
- Knowledge of policies, procedures, and regulations governing practice.
