Advanced Practice Provider - Hospital Medicine

About the role

Sentara Medical Group has a Flexi position available for an Acute Care Advanced Practice Provider to join the Hospital Medicine team at Sentara Princess Anne Hospital in Virginia Beach, VA. The Hospital Medicine Program at Sentara Princess Anne Hospital (174 beds) is a well-established and robust service, managing an average daily patient census of 80-90. The program is supported by a dedicated team of 18 physicians and 4 advanced practice providers (APPs). Our teams are dedicated to cultivating an environment where every individual feels recognized, appreciated, and supported, enabling them to perform at their best for themselves and our patients.

Responsibilities

Highlights of the role include:

• ICU Model: Open ICU with in-person Critical Care coverage from 7a-7p and eICU support overnight (7p-7a), Vent management is provided by the critical care team.
• Schedule: Variable shifts available for day and night
• Admissions: Primary focus is on admissions and consults during the day and evening with a focus on cross coverage at night
• Rounding: Opportunity to round on observation patients and selected low-acuity medical patients
• Admission distribution is shared evenly among the admitting team, with an average of six admissions per 10-hour shift
• No procedural or ICU responsibilities
• Supervising physician on-site at all times

Qualifications

Candidates must be an Adult-Gerontology Acute Care Nurse Practitioner (AG-ACNP) or Physician Assistant with clinical rotation experience including inpatient hospital medicine and/or intensive care experience.
