Advanced Practice Provider (APRN/PA) Acute, Center For Hematology & Oncology, Oncology Clinic, FT, 8A-4:30P
About the role
The APRN will manage the care of complex acutely ill patients through various communication methods. They will provide quality care, perform patient assessments, H & Ps, take a thorough medical history, develop medical diagnoses, prescribe medical regimens, and educate patients and families about their conditions and plans of care. The APRN may also perform approved procedures and order medications as necessary.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with supervising physicians to manage patient care
- Order and interpret laboratory and diagnostic tests
- Develop and implement treatment plans
- Communicate with patients and families to explain diagnoses and treatment plans
- Work with physicians, staff, administration, patients, and families to ensure high-quality care across the health system
- Intervene and manage deteriorating patients
- Integrate evidence-based practice and technological advancements into their scope of practice
- Participate in research initiatives, data collection, quality improvement, discharge planning, and coordination of patient care
- Optimize patient throughput, outcomes, length of stay, and patient satisfaction
Requirements
Requires 3 years of relevant RN experience. Must comply with state of Florida requirements for CEUs and licensure. A DEA license is required based on specialty/function. Advanced Cardiac Life Support is required based on specialty/function. Nurse Practitioner National Certification is required. Must obtain medical staff credentialing and privileges as needed for practice location.
