Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive patient evaluations including medical history, physical examination, and clinical assessment
- Diagnose and treat acute illnesses and minor injuries such as respiratory infections, fractures, lacerations, sprains, and other urgent care presentations
- Order, perform, and interpret diagnostic testing including labs, EKGs, and X-rays
- Perform common urgent care procedures such as suturing, incision and drainage, splinting, wound care, and foreign body removal
- Clinical procedures: administer medications, vaccinations, injections, and treatments according to clinical protocols
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the Experity electronic health record (EHR) system
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA, OSHA, CLIA, FMCSA, and infection control standards
- Provide clear discharge instructions and patient education
- Support clinic flow and operational efficiency while maintaining excellent patient experience
Requirements
- Experience in urgent care, emergency medicine, or primary care preferred
- ANCC, AANP, or NCCPA Board Certified – (with 1 yr ER/UC experience preferred)
- Active and current Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner licensure in the state of practice, DEA number, and state-controlled substance certificate, as required
- Ability to perform urgent care procedures including suturing, splinting, wound care, and phlebotomy
- Willingness to become a certified FMCSA DOT Medical Examiner within 3 months of hire if not already certified
- Familiarity with Occupational Medicine and workers’ compensation cases preferred
- Proficiency with electronic medical records; Experity experience is a plus
- Strong clinical judgment and ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent communication skills and a patient-first approach
- Able to multi-task and work independently
