Two collaborative, motivated Advanced Practice Providers (APRN or PA) are sought for clinic-based roles at the USF South Tampa Center and Morsani Center. Each APP will work with a different group of subspecialty faculty, building an independent clinic template while supporting faculty practices.

About the role

New graduates and experienced APPs are encouraged to apply; structured onboarding, faculty mentorship, and graduated clinical autonomy are central to team development.

Responsibilities

  • Clinical
    • Build an independent outpatient clinic template under direct faculty support, progressively expanding scope as expertise develops.
    • Support faculty clinics through comprehensive patient evaluations, including focused medical histories, physical examinations, and ordering and interpretation of diagnostic studies.
    • Develop and implement treatment plans for patients with a broad range of otolaryngologic conditions, prescribing medications and therapies within scope of practice and in accordance with departmental protocols.
    • Provide postoperative care and follow-up, including management of complications and coordination of additional therapies.
    • Learn and progressively perform basic Otolaryngology procedures—flexible laryngoscopy, cerumen management, nasal endoscopy/debridement—with structured faculty teaching.
    • Triage patient phone calls and clinical inbox messages, including prescription renewals, perioperative concerns, and urgent scheduling needs.
    • Partner with the nursing team on clinical education and protocol development, from procedure setup to patient instruction.
    • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams—including audiology, speech-language pathology, and oncology—to ensure coordinated care.
  • Divisional & Quality
    • Take ownership of a divisional program area, such as cancer survivorship, in partnership with faculty leadership.
    • Contribute to quality improvement work focused on access, transitions of care, patient experience, and outcomes.
    • Contribute to workflow improvements and EPIC optimization in collaboration with the clinical leadership team.
  • Teaching & Research
    • Teach at the bedside and in clinic with residents and rotating medical students; participate in departmental conferences and multidisciplinary tumor boards.
    • Opportunities to join departmental clinical research and scholarly projects—with co-authorship and presentation at regional and national meetings—are available.
    • Pursue ongoing professional development through CME and specialty society engagement (e.g., SPAO-HNS, AAPA, SOHN, AANP).
  • Administrative
    • Complete clinical documentation accurately and in a timely manner.
    • Manage patient-specific paperwork on rotation with the broader APP and faculty team, including FMLA, disability, and procedural authorization documentation.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree from an accredited institution in an appropriate field of specialization or equivalent qualifications based on professional experience.
  • Graduation from an accredited Advanced Practice Registered Nurse academic degree program and certification as outlined in Florida Statutes 464 and Florida Administrative Code, Chapter 64, or graduation from an accredited Physician Assistant academic degree program and certification as outlined in Florida Statutes 458 and 459 and Florida Administrative Code, Chapter 64.
  • Previous experience working in Otolaryngology/ENT.
