Position Highlights
The Department of Urology at Albany Medical College is seeking a full-time Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join their busy and collaborative general urology practice. This position offers the opportunity to provide comprehensive outpatient urologic care in a supportive, team-oriented environment.
Responsibilities
- Evaluate, diagnose, and manage patients with a wide range of general urologic conditions
- See both scheduled patients and same-day urgent add-ons for concerns such as hematuria, urinary tract infections, elevated PSA, and kidney stones
- Perform in-office procedures, including testosterone and Eligard injections
- Conduct patient education, follow-up visits, and medication management
- Collaborate closely with attending urologists, nursing staff, and administrative support staff to ensure high-quality patient care
- Order and interpret diagnostic tests, including imaging and laboratory studies
- Document patient encounters and treatment plans accurately in the electronic health record
- Participate in quality improvement and practice efficiency initiatives
Qualifications
- Licensure and active registration as a registered nurse/nurse practitioner or physician assistant in New York State
- Master's Degree from an accredited Nurse Practitioner program or completion of an accredited Physician Assistant program
- Familiarity working in electronic medical records. Epic experience a plus.
- Collaborate effectively across various departments to ensure cohesive, patient-centered care and a positive work environment
- Maintain HIPAA and patient confidentiality
