Advanced Practice Provider (APP) for General Cardiology

About the Role

As an Advanced Practice Provider (APP), Physician Assistant (PA), or Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN)—including Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS) or Nurse Practitioner (NP)—you will work in collaboration with physicians primarily in the hospital-based inpatient setting, caring for acute, chronically ill, or injured patients. You may perform various levels of invasive procedures.

Responsibilities

• Work under direction and in consultation/collaboration with a physician, performing services authorized by the supervising/collaborating physician that are part of the physician's normal course of practice and expertise.
• Promote quality outcomes and initiatives.
• Maintain a Supervision Agreement (SA) or Standard Care Arrangement (SCA) with a physician in a like practice.
• Practice within applicable state laws, appropriate boards, and in accordance with your SA/SCA and delineation of privileges.
• As a High Reliability Organization (HRO), responsibilities require a focus on safety, quality, and efficiency in performing job duties.

Qualifications

• Master's Degree (Required)
• BLS - Basic Life Support (American Heart Association)
• For Nurse Practitioners: CNP - Certified Nurse Practitioner (American Association of Nurse Practitioners Certification Board)
• For Physician Assistants: PA - Physician Assistant (National Commission on the Certification of Physician Assistants)
• For Registered Nurses: RN - Registered Nurse (Ohio Board of Nursing)

Additional Requirements

For Physician Assistants:

• Current Physician Assistant License to practice in Ohio (maintained through the State Medical Board of Ohio).
• Current Certification from the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA).

For APRNs:

• Current APRN license to practice from the Ohio Board of Nursing (maintained through the State Nursing Board of Ohio).
• Current Certification from a national certifying body: American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC), American Association of Nurse Practitioners (AANP), or American Association of Critical-Care Nurses (AACN).
