Advanced Practice Provider (Acute Care NP/PA/CNS) - Medical ICU III PRN

About the role

Cleveland Clinic Akron General is seeking an Acute Care Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant for PRN (as needed) coverage in the Medical ICU III. The role involves ICU rounding, leading Rapid Response Teams, and performing procedures such as intubations and central line insertions. The position requires 13 shifts per month, combining day and night shifts.

Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough medical histories and physical examinations
• Initiate and interpret lab tests and other diagnostic procedures
• Prescribe and monitor medications as permitted by license
• Educate patients about their conditions, treatments, and potential side effects
• Collaborate with the healthcare team during rounds and consultations
• Referral to specialists as necessary
• Serve as a liaison between patients and other healthcare professionals
• Monitor patient outcomes and ensure quality care
• Support professional development of the healthcare team
• Participate in research and teaching activities
• Other duties as assigned

Requirements

• Experience as an advanced practice provider
• Current license as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant in applicable states
• National certification as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) or Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification, as required by the work setting
• Physician supervision agreement and signed addendum to Physician Supervision Agreement

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Nursing (MSN) or Master’s degree in Physician Assistant Studies
• Licensed as an RN in applicable states
• Experience in critical care settings

Pay

Minimum hourly: $82.00
