About the role

The Integrative Hospital Care Institute at Cleveland Clinic is seeking a Physician Assistant or Acute Care Certified Nurse Practitioner for a full-time Intensivist position in the Medical and Cardiac Intensive Care Units. This role is based at Cleveland Clinic Main Campus and includes rotations at Hillcrest Hospital and Fairview Hospital.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct thorough medical histories and physical examinations, initiate appropriate tests, and develop a diagnosis and treatment plan.
  • Perform and interpret routine and specialized procedures, including bone marrow aspirations, biopsies, and other specific procedures.
  • Prescribe and monitor medications, assist in surgeries, and manage complex conditions.
  • Educate patients about their conditions, treatments, and related health topics.
  • Collaborate with medical and nursing teams, refer patients to specialists, and facilitate discharge planning.
  • Participate in research and quality monitoring.
  • Assist in training PA/APRN students and other healthcare professionals.

Requirements

  • Nationally certified as an APRN or PA.
  • Licensed as an RN or CNS in applicable states.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) through the American Heart Association (AHA).
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) or Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) through the American Heart Association (AHA).
  • Credentialing and privileging by the Medical Executive Committee and the Governing Body of the applicable hospitals.

Qualifications

  • APRN: MSN required upon hire or within 3 years of hire for external hires and internal hires moving from a non-APRN licensed role to an APRN licensed role.
  • PA: Graduate of an A.R.C. approved Physician Assistant Program; Master’s degree in Physician Assistant Studies and/or higher degree obtained from a program recognized by their practicing states Licensing Board.
  • Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS): Currently licensed as a Clinical Nurse Specialist in applicable state(s).

Pay

The minimum annual salary for this position is $101,900.00, with a maximum of $173,220.00. The pay range is based on a full-time (1.0 FTE) position, with additional pay practices and benefits available.

Schedule

The schedule consists of three 12-hour shifts and includes rotating nights, weekends, and holidays. The provider must be available for call and work off-shift hours.
