Advanced Practice Provider (Acute Care NP) - Neuro Intensive Care Unit

About the role

We are seeking a qualified Nurse Practitioner (Acute Care certified) with neurocritical or critical care experience for a Neuro Intensive Care Program. New graduates with extensive ICU experience will also be considered. The role involves managing patients in a multidisciplinary, state-of-the-art 24-bed neuro ICU led by neurointensivists, APPs, fellows, and residents, collaborating with neurosurgery, neurology, nursing, respiratory therapists, and pharmacy.

Responsibilities

• Conducting thorough histories and physical exams, ordering and interpreting diagnostic tests, and developing treatment plans in collaboration with the healthcare team.
• Performing routine and specialized procedures, prescribing medications within scope, and educating patients about their conditions and treatments.
• Participating in medical rounds, ensuring continuity of care, discharge planning, and quality monitoring.
• Supporting professional development, translating evidence-based practices, and potentially conducting research or serving as a clinical preceptor.

Qualifications

• MSN from an accredited program, with licensure as an RN and Nurse Practitioner in applicable states.
• National certification as a Nurse Practitioner, BLS, and ACLS/PALS or NRP as required.
