About the role

Physician Assistant (Acute Care certified) with neurocritical or critical care experience for a Neuro Intensive Care Program. The role includes autonomy in admitting, discharging, and performing ICU procedures.

Responsibilities

• Conduct medical histories and physical exams
• Order and interpret diagnostic tests
• Perform routine and specialized procedures
• Prescribe medications within scope
• Educate patients
• Participate in team rounds
• Refer to specialists
• Ensure continuity of care
• Participate in quality monitoring
• Support discharge planning
• Promote evidence-based practices
• Conduct research
• Serve as a clinical preceptor
• Perform additional duties as assigned

Qualifications & Skills

• Graduate from an accredited PA program with a master's degree
• NCCPA certification
• Valid license and DEA registration
• Credentialed and privileged by hospital authorities
• Excellent analytical, decision-making, communication, and teamwork skills
• Competency in assessment and diagnosis
• Proficiency with electronic medical records
• Ethical behavior, compassion, professionalism
• Critical thinking
• Ability to work independently and handle stress
