Advanced Practice Nurse (Mental Health)
Summary
The Advanced Nurse Practice (APN) position is located within the Department of Veteran Affairs (VA), Veterans Health Administration (VHA), under the Mental Health and Behavioral Sciences Service Line (MHBS). The NP will provide advanced clinical practice, consultation, and management.
Qualifications
Education: A post-master's certificate or master's or doctoral degree as a Nurse Practitioner from an accredited institution.
Licenses: Active, current, full, and unrestricted APN license to practice as an NP in a State, Territory, or Commonwealth of the United States, or in the District of Columbia.
Certifications: Full and current basic board certification as a Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) from ANCC, AANPCB, or another nationally recognized certifying body.
Dimensions
Level II: Delivers evidence-based health care, demonstrates proficiency in managing a patient panel, population, or program, utilizes research and evidence-based practice to evaluate the patient care delivery system, and works effectively as a leader within a team/unit/group.
Level III: Influences and models the delivery of evidence-based health care, demonstrates expertise in managing a patient panel, population, or program, leads and implements changes that enhance the quality and timeliness of Veteran/patient care, and initiates and leads interdisciplinary teams informed by structured approaches and processes to improve outcomes.
Pay
