About the role

Rivian is seeking a highly skilled Power Integrity & Power Architecture Engineer to lead the design, modeling, simulation, and validation of advanced SoC power delivery architectures. This role involves bridging the gap between SoC design, power architecture, silicon packaging, and system-level power integrity. The ideal candidate will work within a diverse team that shares a passion for the outdoors and innovation. The focus will be on optimizing power delivery networks and ensuring robust power integrity through advanced simulation and validation techniques.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's, Master's, or Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
  • Proven industry experience in Power Integrity (PI) and Power Architecture for SoCs.
  • Deep understanding of System-on-Chip (SoC) power distribution and silicon-package interactions.
  • Hands-on expertise with high-speed lab equipment for physical power validation.
  • Strong foundation in power architecture, electromagnetics, and power distribution network noise dynamics.

Responsibilities

  • Define and optimize overall SoC power architecture, establishing target impedance and efficiency targets.
  • Define requirements and simulation flows for next-generation power supplier architectures.
  • Perform co-design and co-optimization for silicon packaging and embedded passives.
  • Conduct pre- and post-layout power integrity and signal integrity simulations.
  • Lead post-silicon validation and correlate lab data with pre-silicon simulation models.
  • Collaborate with hardware and SoC teams to validate SoC platforms under real-world workloads.
  • Work alongside CAD and tool teams to automate power integrity analysis and simulation workflows.
