About the Role

This Advanced Nurse Practitioner position involves working alongside nursing and psychiatry staff, performing both clinical and administrative tasks to ensure high-quality patient care and operational efficiency.

Responsibilities

  • Perform initial psychiatric evaluations within 60 minutes.
  • Conduct medication management follow-ups within 20 minutes.
  • Complete documentation within 48 hours of patient encounters.
  • Complete refer-out forms within 24 hours for patients requiring a higher level of care.
  • Fulfill all record requests within 30 days of receipt.
  • Log into initial psychiatric evaluations 10 minutes prior to the scheduled appointment; notify the front desk in case of emergency.
  • Log into medication management appointments within 5 minutes of the scheduled time; contact the front desk in case of emergency.
  • Check the NJ Prescription Monitoring Program (PMP) at least every 90 days when prescribing controlled substances.
  • Attend a weekly 1-hour Clinical Team Meeting.
  • Perform on-site and virtual initial psychiatric evaluations.
  • Prescribe medications during follow-up appointments, both virtual and on-site.
  • Provide medication refills for clients within 2–3 business days of the request.
  • Periodically cover medication refill requests for absent providers to ensure continuity of care; contact patients as needed.
  • Respond to urgent messages from Medical Assistant staff on the same business day and to non-urgent messages within two business days.
  • Engage in case conferencing with the Chief Medical Officer, Medical Director, Collaborating Physician, Director of Nursing, Clinical Director, therapists, and other staff.
  • Refer patients to appropriate levels of care when necessary.
  • Attend scheduled supervisions.
  • Complete timely and accurate written records for each patient, including intake assessments, progress notes, treatment notes, termination notes, and all required forms.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient files.
  • Assist and cover for other staff to maintain high productivity and efficiency.
  • Take on additional responsibilities as the company grows to support departmental success.
  • Demonstrate effective teamwork through outstanding oral and written communication with employees at all levels.
  • Accept constructive feedback and maintain professionalism in discourse.
  • Critically assess problems and propose solutions.
  • Adhere to business casual dress code.

Requirements

  • Master’s in Nursing and Post Master’s Program in Advanced Practice Role.
  • Current and unrestricted Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) license.
  • 1 year of experience as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse.
  • Computer literacy with proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Current CPR Certification.
  • PMHNP (Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner) certification.
  • Narcan certification.
  • Current active and unrestricted Nurse Practitioner certification in specialty area.
  • Current active DEA (Drug Enforcement Administration) registration.
  • Current active CDS (Controlled Dangerous Substance) registration, if required by the state of employment.
