Responsibilities

  • Influence the planning and designing of manufacturing engineering processes.
  • Determine parts and tools needed by the team to achieve manufacturing goals according to product specification, for both existing and new processes/product technologies.
  • Maximize efficiency by analyzing the layout of equipment, workflow, assembly methods, and work force utilization.
  • Support daily production activities and drive producibility improvement projects in a challenging environment.
  • Provide test and manufacturing support for the avionics production lines.
  • Perform yield and performance data analysis to monitor process capability and product health trends.
  • Utilize CAMP, Lean, and Six-Sigma methodologies to govern engineering standard work practices.
  • Investigate and resolve technical issues, facilitate issue identification and analysis.
  • Help grow capacity by reducing cycle time, incorporating new capital equipment, and improving yield.
  • Develop improvements in product design and in the manufacturing and assembly processes for cost and cycle time reductions.
  • Assist development of new processes for new products.
  • Support knowledge for test equipment and preventative maintenance plans to maintain factory capacity and efficient product flow.
  • Facilitate a self-driven work force culture to achieve RTY, BIQ, COPQ, and other SQDIC goals.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in a technical discipline such as Engineering, Physics, or Mathematics.
  • 7+ years of manufacturing engineering experience.
  • Product or process engineering experience.
  • Experience with CNC machining, optics, electronics, and/or data analysis.
  • Ability to balance priorities in daily tasks and strategic projects.
  • Hands-on work ethic.
  • Initiative and ownership of responsibilities and actions.
  • Ability to partner and collaborate well with team members.
  • Ability to quickly and accurately identify subtle interrelationships and patterns among a variety of problems and issues (process and data correlation of cause/effect across value stream).
  • Conveying information with clarity and directness, ensuring the message is understood across diverse teams.
  • Root Cause Corrective Action (RCCA) / Lean / Six Sigma experience.
