Responsibilities
- Influence the planning and designing of manufacturing engineering processes.
- Determine parts and tools needed by the team to achieve manufacturing goals according to product specification, for both existing and new processes/product technologies.
- Maximize efficiency by analyzing the layout of equipment, workflow, assembly methods, and work force utilization.
- Support daily production activities and drive producibility improvement projects in a challenging environment.
- Provide test and manufacturing support for the avionics production lines.
- Perform yield and performance data analysis to monitor process capability and product health trends.
- Utilize CAMP, Lean, and Six-Sigma methodologies to govern engineering standard work practices.
- Investigate and resolve technical issues, facilitate issue identification and analysis.
- Help grow capacity by reducing cycle time, incorporating new capital equipment, and improving yield.
- Develop improvements in product design and in the manufacturing and assembly processes for cost and cycle time reductions.
- Assist development of new processes for new products.
- Support knowledge for test equipment and preventative maintenance plans to maintain factory capacity and efficient product flow.
- Facilitate a self-driven work force culture to achieve RTY, BIQ, COPQ, and other SQDIC goals.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in a technical discipline such as Engineering, Physics, or Mathematics.
- 7+ years of manufacturing engineering experience.
- Product or process engineering experience.
- Experience with CNC machining, optics, electronics, and/or data analysis.
- Ability to balance priorities in daily tasks and strategic projects.
- Hands-on work ethic.
- Initiative and ownership of responsibilities and actions.
- Ability to partner and collaborate well with team members.
- Ability to quickly and accurately identify subtle interrelationships and patterns among a variety of problems and issues (process and data correlation of cause/effect across value stream).
- Conveying information with clarity and directness, ensuring the message is understood across diverse teams.
- Root Cause Corrective Action (RCCA) / Lean / Six Sigma experience.
