Rowan-Cabarrus Community College is seeking an Advanced Manufacturing Trainer to coordinate, manage, and instruct Okuma North America-related trainings. This role involves developing and delivering Okuma-focused training in electrical, mechanical, maintenance, and programming, while collaborating closely with Okuma North America to stay updated on training demands and technology specifications.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the Okuma Machine Tool Instructor Team.
  • Support all functions of the Okuma Machine Tool Academy.
  • Provide Okuma Machine Tool instruction at various locations, times, and topics based on class scheduling.
  • Maintain accurate record-keeping for continuing education classes.
  • Collaborate with Business Services Account Managers on industry projects as a subject matter expert.
  • Engage in marketing and recruitment for Okuma Machine Tool Academy (OMTA) course offerings.
  • Instruct additional industry training as needed, pending existing instructional scheduling.
  • Support the North Carolina Manufacturing Institute and Manufacturing Skills Standards Council.
  • Teach courses in measurement, safety, quality, processes, and maintenance.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field and four (4) years of progressive responsibility in the area of assignment; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to perform duties requiring reaching, standing, walking, fingering, grasping, feeling, talking, hearing, seeing, and repetitive motions.
  • Sedentary work: Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or negligible force frequently. Primarily involves sitting, with occasional walking or standing.

Pay

$50.00 per hour (part-time, capped at 29 hours per week).
