About the role

This full‑time, benefits‑eligible position supports product development using both Additive Manufacturing (AM) and conventional methods, with a focus on sustainment activities for aerospace and other equipment components. The engineer will act as a “Product Owner,” shepherding projects through the full product development process, collaborating with manufacturing and qualification teams, and providing FEA analysis support. Additional responsibilities include reverse engineering, CAD design, GD&T‑driven 2D drawing generation, analysis and simulation, training material development, and participation in technical challenges and team support activities. The role operates in a highly agile environment, requiring strong teamwork, adaptability, and meticulous attention to detail.

Responsibilities

  • Lead product development efforts as Product Owner, following all process steps from concept through completion.
  • Perform reverse engineering, CAD design, and GD&T‑based 2D drawing generation.
  • Conduct simulation and FEA analysis using industry tools such as ANSYS.
  • Collaborate with manufacturing and qualification teams to bring components to production.
  • Develop and deliver training materials as needed.
  • Participate in technical challenges and provide general team support.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science degree in mechanical or aerospace engineering.
  • Three or more years of experience in product development.
  • Three or more years of experience with Computer Aided Design software, preferably SolidWorks.
  • Three or more years of practical experience generating 2D drawings, including application of GD&T.
  • Two or more years of experience performing simulation and FEA analysis using an industry standard tool such as ANSYS.
  • Practical experience reverse‑engineering products or projects.
  • Familiarity with a range of manufacturing processes (e.g., casting, forging, extrusion, CNC machining, injection molding, thermoforming).
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to conduct extensive research, document findings, and write reports for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Effective interpersonal communication and presentation skills with coworkers and clients at all levels.
  • Self‑motivation with the ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Proven ability to collaborate within a multi‑disciplinary team.
  • Eligibility to work on U.S. government contracts (U.S. citizenship required).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Hands‑on experience with Laser Powder Bed Fusion printers.
  • Hands‑on experience with industrial FDM printers.
