Your Role And Responsibilities

In this role you will be responsible for providing the technical lead and coordination of process improvements for the US – Motion - System Drives Production Lines in the areas of Safety, Delivery, Internal Logistics, Lean Manufacturing, Change Management, Automation and Quality. The work model for the role is: onsite in New Berlin, WI. This role is contributing to the High-Power Motion division in North America.

You will be mainly accountable for:

  • Responsible for identifying and improving safety at the site through use of technology, work cell redesign, and improved ergonomics.
  • Responsible for helping to deliver world class quality by assisting or writing work instructions, completing PFMEAs, poke-yoke, error proofing, and managing ECNs as they arise. Work to ensure compliance and drive improvements to the quality management system.
  • Drive capacity improvements to operations by identifying and executing kaizens to meet customer demand and drive cost savings initiatives.
  • Plan and execute multiple projects simultaneously by utilizing change management skills to manage risks meet project deadline. This individual must work collaboratively with stakeholders, manage phase in / phase out of changes, have robust follow through on changes to ensure success.
  • Spearhead automation improvements to the facility with implementation of key manufacturing process technologies including but not limited to robotics, vision systems, AGVs, and other poke-yoke controls. This may include contractor management, requirement specification development, or other project management tasks of the change.

Qualifications For The Role

  • Bachelor's degree in industrial, manufacturing, or related Engineering/Science.
  • 8+ years of experience working as an Industrial, Manufacturing, or Quality, Engineer.
  • Basic understanding of CAD Software (Autodesk/AutoCAD preferred).
  • Working knowledge of ERP software, preferably SAP.
  • Candidates must already have a work authorization that would permit them to work for ABB in the US.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience or Exposure to a Manufacturing Execution System (MES).
  • Experience working with Smart Tools.
