Advanced Mammography Technologist

About the Role

The Advanced Mammography Technologist performs mammography imaging procedures to assist in the diagnosis and treatment of patients. This role involves operating mammography and other imaging equipment, ensuring patient safety, and maintaining high-quality imaging standards. The technologist must also effectively communicate with patients and healthcare professionals to provide optimal care.

Responsibilities

• Operate mammography and other imaging equipment to produce diagnostic images.
• Ensure patient safety and comfort during imaging procedures.
• Recognize technical abnormalities and adjust protocols as needed.
• Follow quality improvement programs and radiation safety procedures.
• Communicate effectively with patients and healthcare professionals.
• Adhere to machine emergency procedures and maintain safe operation.
• Perform duties requiring prolonged standing, walking, and physical exertion (e.g., pushing, pulling, lifting up to 50 lbs).
• Grip, reach, bend, kneel, twist, and squat as required to perform imaging procedures.

Requirements

• Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technologist Program with completed required clinical hours.
• 1 year of relevant experience OR graduate of a Bachelor’s degree program.
• State licensure may be required depending on the specific state of practice.
• Certification/Registration: ARRT (R)(M) and Basic Life Support (BLS).

• Proficient knowledge in producing diagnostic images with the ability to recognize technical abnormalities.
• Knowledge of advanced imaging procedures and protocols.

Pay

Sign-on bonus of up to $5,000 for eligible candidates (Mammography Technologists hired into a 0.6 FTE or greater position).
