Advanced Lung Disease Assistant 1

About the role

The Advanced Lung Disease (ALD) Assistant 1 supports the clinical operations of the Advanced Lung Disease Program, focusing on interstitial lung disease (ILD), pulmonary hypertension (PH), sarcoidosis, cystic fibrosis (CF), and other complex pulmonary conditions.

Responsibilities

• Coordinates referrals, patient appointments, diagnostic testing, and ongoing care needs in collaboration with ALD Coordinators, advanced practice providers, and program leadership.
• Schedules and coordinates complex, multi-step diagnostic and specialty testing across departments.
• Maintains excellent customer service and communicates effectively with diverse patient populations.
• Multitasks in a fast-paced environment to ensure timely and efficient service.
• Works collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team to support patient care.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED
• Work Experience

Qualifications

• Familiarity with medical terminology, especially related to pulmonary or cardiopulmonary conditions.
• Proficiency with computer software systems (EMR/EHR platforms, Word, e-mail).
• Knowledge of ambulatory clinic workflows and diagnostic test requirements.

Schedule

Full-time, 4 ten-hour shifts per week, Monday through Friday.
