About the role

The Next Generation Products (NGP) Advanced Lead Engineer provides technical and execution leadership for hot hardware across the entire New Product Introduction lifecycle—from requirements and design through review readiness, cost-out, hardware delivery, test, certification/qualification, and integration into downstream deliverables. You will own hardware within a module while mentoring the broader team and collaborating with engineering, manufacturing, supply chain, quality, and project functions to design, source, and deliver parts on time, aligning with Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost. This role is 100% on-site in Evendale, OH, and reports to an Engineering Manager.

Responsibilities

  • Execute the design, analysis, and evaluation of assigned components for advanced military products.
  • Adhere to business standards, practices, procedures, and product requirements.
  • Leverage mechanical design experience and broaden technical discipline knowledge to meet product deliverables within schedule and budget.
  • Demonstrate systems-thinking to understand how team contributions integrate to achieve product requirements.
  • Exhibit autonomy in decision-making within a defined requirements framework while resolving design challenges.
  • Review designs and consult with senior technical leaders for work evaluation.
  • Develop strong internal and external customer relationships through effective interpersonal skills.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or aeronautical engineering from an accredited university.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in mechanical design or mechanical analysis engineering.
  • Must be eligible for a US Government Security clearance at the Secret level (U.S. citizenship required).
  • Ability to prove U.S. Person status (U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident, asylee, or refugee) for access to U.S. export-controlled information.

Desired Qualifications

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in mechanical design engineering.
  • Master’s degree in mechanical engineering or aeronautical engineering from an accredited university.
  • High motivation and passion for the NGP mission, with strong communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze and solve technical challenges with sound reasoning, project planning, execution, and documentation.
  • Experience with finite element analysis software (e.g., ANSYS) and 3D modeling software (e.g., NX Unigraphics).
  • Experience with structural component design and analysis.
  • Existing US Government Security Clearance.
