Responsibilities

  • Aid in MCR specialized services
  • Assist Drivetrain Specialist in training EDF crews with crane calling and rigging procedures & qualifications
  • Perform large corrective repairs and R&R of major components independently when necessary
  • Oversee the safe operation of EDF and contractor employees during the removal & replacement (R&R) of major components, and large corrective in-situ repairs of renewable energy assets
  • Assist with projects requiring special skills, such as R&R of major components and in-situ repair of major components
  • Develop tooling and fixtures to perform large corrective repairs
  • Travel to other sites to support Site Managers as needed
  • Assist with developing, writing, and training work procedures and control instructions for heavy lift operations with the assistance of PDS Technical Writer
  • Process standardization and continuous improvement tasks, including quality control during the removal & replacement (R&R) of major components, and large corrective in-situ repairs
  • Provide high-quality workmanship with the goal of increasing safety, performance, and efficiency
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Advanced Wind technician experience
  • Experience working with current renewable energy technologies
  • High school diploma or equivalent, or up to one year related experience or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Successfully complete applicable safety and technical training program for advanced wind technician
  • Basic computer knowledge
  • Ability to follow both verbal and written instructions
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Knowledge of EDF Renewable’s Safety & Quality policies, procedures, and work instructions
  • Basic functional knowledge of MS Word and PowerPoint
  • Ability to read and comprehend schematic drawings
  • Ability to work at heights, including climbing up and descending towers of various heights
  • Ability to work with and provide hands-on training to other technicians
  • Ability to work in extreme weather conditions, including cold, rain, wind, etc.
  • Mechanical, electrical, and controls aptitude as expressed by prior performance of some of the responsibilities described above
  • Proof of a current driver’s license and clean driving record, to operate company vehicles (field trucks) both on site as well as on public roads and highways
