About the role

This is an exciting opportunity for a dynamic clinician to join our Cancer Services at the Northern Centre for Cancer Care, based at the Freeman Hospital. The role supports Breast Cancer Oncology Services, working as an increasingly independent practitioner responsible for patient treatment and holistic, patient-centered care. You will join an innovative team of oncologists, ACPs, pharmacists, and specialist nurses, delivering non-surgical oncology treatments in a tertiary centre.

Responsibilities

• Provide expert clinical management and care to patients in Cancer Services as an independent practitioner.
• Work within a multidisciplinary team to deliver holistic, patient-centered care.
• Lead service changes to improve performance and patient care.
• Demonstrate leadership and act as a role model in all aspects of work, consistently reflecting trust values and core behaviours.
• Prioritise a complex workload in a rapidly changing environment.
• Engage in lifelong, self-directed learning in this rapidly developing specialty.

Requirements

Qualifications & Education

• Essential:
  • Professional qualification plus degree.
  • Successful completion of Advanced Clinical Practitioner Training (full Masters level equivalent).
  • Successful completion of non-medical prescribing course.
• Desirable:
  • Additional qualifications or certifications in oncology or related fields.

Knowledge & Experience

• Essential:
  • Previous experience at ACP (Foundation) Level.
  • Evidence of capability and commitment to teach and train other staff.
  • Demonstrated continuing professional development in Cancer Services.
• Desirable:
  • Experience contributing to the development of healthcare staff at a departmental/Trust level.
  • Evidence of teaching experience outside of a single professional group.
  • Significant contribution to healthcare quality improvement project(s).

• Ability to prioritise a complex workload and work in a rapidly changing environment.
