About the role

This is an exciting opportunity for a dynamic clinician to join our Cancer Services at the Northern Centre for Cancer Care, based at the Freeman Hospital. The role supports Breast Cancer Oncology Services as an increasingly independent practitioner responsible for patient treatment and holistic, patient-centered care. You will work within a multidisciplinary team of oncologists, ACPs, pharmacists, and specialist nurses.

Responsibilities

• Provide expert clinical management and care to patients in Cancer Services as an independent practitioner.
• Deliver non-surgical oncology treatments in a tertiary centre.
• Lead service changes to improve performance and patient care.
• Demonstrate leadership, act as a role model, and uphold Trust values and core behaviours.
• Engage in lifelong, self-directed learning in this rapidly developing specialty.

Requirements

Qualifications & Education

• Essential:
  • Professional qualification plus degree.
  • Successful completion of Advanced Clinical Practitioner Training (full Masters level equivalent).
  • Successful completion of non-medical prescribing course.
• Desirable:
  • Additional experience or qualifications in non-medical prescribing.

Knowledge & Experience

• Essential:
  • Previous experience at ACP (Foundation) Level.
  • Evidence of capability and commitment to teach and train other staff.
  • Demonstrated continuing professional development in Cancer Services.
• Desirable:
  • Experience contributing to the development of healthcare staff at a departmental/Trust level.
  • Teaching experience outside of a single professional group.
  • Significant contribution to healthcare quality improvement project(s).

• Ability to prioritise a complex workload and work in a rapidly changing environment.
• Self-motivated, professional, proactive, and personally resilient.

Schedule

37 hours 30 minutes per week.

All references from current and previous employers must cover a minimum of 3 years of employment. Successful candidates requiring a DBS check will have the cost deducted from their first month’s salary.
