About the Role
This individual will function independently in collaboration with a supervising physician, focusing on routine office visits, minor office-based procedures, and follow-up visits with the patient population.
Responsibilities
- See all patients of Tryon Medical Partners.
- Perform initial and periodic medical history and physical examinations.
- Record findings of examinations, assessments, and plan of care.
- Perform minor office-based medical and/or surgical procedures.
- Provide telemedicine services.
- Write appropriate prescriptions and administer medications.
- Respond to patient inquiries and requests.
- Order and interpret laboratory and radiology examinations.
- Determine treatment plans for patients.
- Document all patient encounters, observations, interventions, and actions in a medically appropriate and timely manner.
- Consult with supervising physician as necessary.
- Work with the broader care team to provide services to patients.
- Act as a patient advocate for the served population.
- Attend, participate, and contribute to group/practice meetings and the development of policies and procedures when requested.
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Completion of an accredited physician assistant or nurse practitioner program with appropriate certification exams.
- Current Physician Assistant license with the North Carolina Medical Board or Nurse Practitioner license with the North Carolina Board of Nursing.
- Must have or be eligible for a DEA license.
- Eligible for prescriptive authority application through the Board of Nursing or Medical Board in NC.
- BLS for healthcare provider from AHA or American Red Cross (expiration date greater than 90 days from the start of practice).
- Completion of Hepatitis B Vaccine and Flu Vaccine Form (candidate may decline via declination form or provide prior vaccination records).
- Completion of TB test will be required.
Experience
1+ year of experience is preferred.
Physical Requirements
- Work consistently requires walking, standing, sitting, lifting, reaching, stooping, bending, pushing, and pulling.
- Must be able to lift and support the weight of 35 pounds.
- Ability to concentrate on details.
- Use of a computer for long periods of time.
