Advanced Care Practitioner - Primary Care

About the Role

This individual will function independently in collaboration with a supervising physician, focusing on routine office visits, minor office-based procedures, and follow-up visits with the patient population.

Responsibilities

• See all patients of Tryon Medical Partners.
• Perform initial and periodic medical history and physical examinations.
• Record findings of examinations, assessments, and plan of care.
• Perform minor office-based medical and/or surgical procedures.
• Provide telemedicine services.
• Write appropriate prescriptions and administer medications.
• Respond to patient inquiries and requests.
• Order and interpret laboratory and radiology examinations.
• Determine treatment plans for patients.
• Document all patient encounters, observations, interventions, and actions in a medically appropriate and timely manner.
• Consult with supervising physician as necessary.
• Work with the broader care team to provide services to patients.
• Act as a patient advocate for the served population.
• Attend, participate, and contribute to group/practice meetings and the development of policies and procedures when requested.
• Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Completion of an accredited physician assistant or nurse practitioner program with appropriate certification exams.
• Current Physician Assistant license with the North Carolina Medical Board or Nurse Practitioner license with the North Carolina Board of Nursing.
• Must have or be eligible for a DEA license.
• Eligible for prescriptive authority application through the Board of Nursing or Medical Board in NC.
• BLS for healthcare provider from AHA or American Red Cross (expiration date greater than 90 days from the start of practice).
• Completion of Hepatitis B Vaccine and Flu Vaccine Form (candidate may decline via declination form or provide prior vaccination records).
• Completion of TB test will be required.

Experience

1+ year of experience is preferred.

Physical Requirements

• Work consistently requires walking, standing, sitting, lifting, reaching, stooping, bending, pushing, and pulling.
• Must be able to lift and support the weight of 35 pounds.
• Ability to concentrate on details.
• Use of a computer for long periods of time.
