Key Responsibilities
- Plan and execute procurement activities to support production, inventory health, and service objectives
- Collaborate closely with production planning teams to synchronize purchasing with manufacturing schedules, capacity, and demand forecasts
- Source critical and sensitive materials, including human blood products, ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations and quality standards
- Place and manage purchase orders, monitor supplier performance, and follow up on delays or issues
- Analyze inventory levels, demand, lead times, production plans, and human blood product availability to support replenishment decisions and optimize supply continuity
- Generate human blood units assignment based on product and manufacturing needs by analyzing screening data to ensure optimal utilization and compliance
- Maintain accurate purchasing and inventory data in the ERP system in compliance with SOPs
- Communicate supply status, risks, constraints, and potential impacts on production and sourcing of sensitive materials to internal partners
- Collaborate with manufacturing, planning, suppliers, and specialized vendors involved in human blood sourcing to resolve supply challenges and adjust plans as needed
- Support continuous improvement efforts within purchasing, production planning, inventory management, and sourcing processes
- Utilize tools such as Power BI, SmartSheets, and Microsoft Excel to analyze data, generate reports, and support decision-making
Qualifications
- Education and Experience: Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, Operations, or related field, or equivalent experience
- 3-5 years of experience in purchasing, procurement, supply chain, production planning, manufacturing, or sourcing sensitive biological materials such as human blood
- Experience working with ERP or MRP systems and integrating production planning data
- Experience in ISO-regulated environments (ISO 9001 / ISO 13485) and compliance with regulations impacting human blood sourcing preferred
Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities
- Knowledge of purchasing, inventory management, supply chain processes, production planning, and human blood sourcing regulations and logistics
- Proficiency with data analysis and reporting tools including Power BI, SmartSheets, and advanced Microsoft Excel
- Ability to generate human blood units assignment by analyzing screening data aligned to product and manufacturing requirements
- Skills in analyzing inventory, production, supply data, and human blood product availability to support decision-making and align procurement with manufacturing and regulatory needs
- Skills in problem-solving and issue resolution within defined procedures
- Ability to prioritize work and manage multiple assignments
- Ability to work independently on routine assignments and with guidance on complex issues
- Ability to build productive working relationships across departments and with specialized suppliers
- Skills in writing and communicating clearly and effectively in English
Desired Certifications
- Certifications related to planning, procurement, or sourcing such as APICS Certified Supply Chain Professional (CSCP), Certified Professional in Supply Management (CPSM), or Certified Purchasing Professional (CPP)
Working Conditions
- Onsite work in a standard business office and operations environment
