RWJBH is seeking a Per Diem Advanced Practice Provider for the Surgical Sub-Specialty department at the New Brunswick campus.
About the role
This is a consultative role covering Plastic Surgery and Otolaryngology. The position is rotational for days and nights and involves a high volume of procedures, though there is no operating room responsibility. The role requires manual dexterity for suturing and using scopes, with a preference for understanding techniques of primary and secondary closures of acute wounds (training available). The service is fast-paced and demands high energy and a positive attitude.
Responsibilities
- Perform consultative services for Plastic Surgery and Otolaryngology
- Manage a high-volume procedure service
- Demonstrate manual dexterity for suturing and scope use
- Apply techniques for primary and secondary closures of acute wounds
- Work rotational day and night shifts
Requirements
- Current NJ APN or PA license
- NCCPA certification (for Physician Assistants)
- Controlled Dangerous Substances (CDS) certification
- DEA certification
- Registered Nurse (RN) license
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification
- RNFA certification (optional)
Qualifications
- Advanced Practice Nurses must be certified in Family due to the pediatric population served
- Physician Assistants must be a graduate from an accredited PA program
- 1-3 years of Surgical ENT/Plastics experience preferred
- Effective time management skills and a desire to learn procedures
Pay
The anticipated hourly wage range for this position in New Jersey is $57.69 - $91.34 per hour. The compensation offered will depend on the candidate's educational background, skills, and professional experience.
Schedule
Per diem, night shift.
