Job Overview
The nurse practitioner functions as an independent care provider in collaboration with other healthcare professionals. The care is characterized by comprehensive health assessments and management of patients with acute and/or chronic health problems in the Heart and Vascular services (cardiology, cardiac cath lab and non-invasive cardiology).
Hospital APP coverage for Heart and Vascular patients.
Qualification
- Licensed Registered Nurse in the state of New Jersey
- Certified Nurse Practitioner in the state of New Jersey
- Masters/Doctors prepared in Nursing from an accredited program
- ACLS/BLS certified
- Must have cardiac and/or critical care experience
- Strong clinical assessment and decision-making skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Scheduling Requirement
- 40 Hours
Essential Functions
- Conducts thorough patient assessments, including medical history, physical examination and diagnostic test results
- Develops and implements comprehensive care plans for patients undergoing cardiac procedures and/or admitted for further evaluation/treatment
- Maintains monitoring of patients, hemodynamic status, ordering, adjusting medications and interventions as needed
- Provides pre and post procedure/ heart failure education and support to patients and their families
- Facilitates discharges for heart and vascular service line patients
- Provides education to staff and community regarding cardiac conditions and procedures
- Participates in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care and outcomes
- Works closely with a multidisciplinary team, including cardiologists, other NPs, nurses, and social workers
Pay
The pay range for this position if hired to work in New Jersey is $120,000 to $190,000 per year. The compensation offered to the candidate selected for the position will depend on several factors, including the candidate's educational background, skills and professional experience.
