About the role
The Neonatal Advanced Practice Provider provides health care to neonates, infants and children up to one year of age. They focus on critically ill premature and full-term infants, emphasizing family-centered, culturally sensitive care. This role involves daily responsibility for patient assessment and management in both high and low acuity settings.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with a multi-disciplinary team to deliver a continuum of primary, acute, and subspecialty healthcare.
- Enhance the quality of care through education and clinical practice, utilizing advanced practice knowledge and research.
- Conduct comprehensive evaluations and assessments of patients.
- Diagnose and treat a wide range of medical conditions under the supervision of a physician.
- Develop and implement care plans in collaboration with the healthcare team.
- Perform procedures as necessary.
- Work closely with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to ensure coordinated care.
- Communicate effectively with patients and their families regarding treatment plans and health education.
- Stay current with medical best practices, guidelines, and regulations.
- Engage in continuing education and professional development activities.
- Participate in research or quality improvement projects as directed or needed.
Requirements
- CDS and DEA
- Current NRP and BLS certification
- APN License
- RN License
- NNP Certification with NICU RN experience OR Primary Care Pediatric NP Certification with APP experience in an inpatient setting OR Acute Care Pediatric NP Certification with PICU setting procedural experience as an APP
- PICU procedural experience OR NICU experience as an APP
- NCCPA
