Adult Psychiatry Advanced Practice Provider
About the Role
Mission Health is seeking an experienced Psychiatry Advanced Practice Provider who is comfortable working with adults to join our Behavioral Health team in Asheville, NC. This 100% inpatient position is based at Sweeten Creek, covering four adult units with 24 beds each. The role follows a 7 on / 7 off schedule with 10-hour shifts.
Responsibilities
- Conduct psychiatric evaluations
- Provide ongoing medication management services
- See adult and geriatric patients in an inpatient setting
Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited nurse practitioner or physician assistant program
- PMHNP or psychiatry CAQ PA certification required
- At least 1 year of experience as a practicing advanced practice provider in psychiatry / behavioral health

About the Organization
Mission Health’s Behavioral Health Services include a 120-bed freestanding behavioral health hospital, Sweeten Creek, which opened in 2023. The facility features three adult, one geriatric, one child, and one adolescent inpatient units, along with a 23-bed emergency department psychiatric evaluation area and a 10-bed behavioral health pod in the new Mission Hospital emergency department. Additional services include consultation on the pediatrics service and in the emergency department, as well as an active ECT program.
