Adult Protective Services Specialist I/II (4661129)
Job Location: 149 Park Central Square, Room 429, Springfield, MO 65806 (Greene County). This position covers assigned cases in Christian, Stone, Taney, and Webster counties.

The salary indicated represents a base pay rate. If eligible, a pay differential (e.g., shift, security, or years of service) may be added to your total compensation, though it does not raise the base pay.
Responsibilities
- Investigate reports of abuse, neglect, and exploitation of the elderly (age 60+) and disabled adults (ages 18+).
- Conduct home visits to observe surroundings and interview victims and caregivers.
- Coordinate interventions and ongoing protective services needs.
- Participate in an on-call rotation with other team members.
- Travel within a local multi-county area to conduct home visits, attend hearings, and training sessions, utilizing your personal vehicle when necessary. Minimal overnight travel required.
Requirements
- High-level communication and interviewing skills.
- Able to work independently and show initiative within a team environment.
- Resilient, with critical and innovative thinking skills.
- Bachelor’s degree (relevant experience such as LPN, RN, or social services may substitute for each year of required education).
- For the APS Specialist II position: one or more years of experience in Adult Protective Services or a related human services field.
