Adult Protective Services Specialist I/II (4661095)

About the role

The position is located at 1419 E Church Street, Aurora, MO 65605 / Lawrence County. This is a dedicated role aimed at protecting seniors and adults with disabilities through advocacy and assistance.

Responsibilities

• Investigate reports of abuse, neglect, and exploitation of the elderly (age 60+) and disabled (ages 18+).
• Conduct home visits to observe surroundings and interview victims and caregivers.
• Cookinate interventions and ongoing protective services needs.
• Be available for an on-call rotation with other members of your team.
• Travel within the local multi-county area to conduct home visits, attend hearings, and training sessions, using your personal vehicle when necessary. Minimal overnight travel required.

Requirements

• High level communication and interviewing skills.
• Able to work independently and show initiative within a team environment.
• Able to be resilient, with critical and innovative thinking skills.
• Bachelor's degree (or relevant experience such as LPN, RN, or social service supports, etc.) is required. One or more years of experience in Adult Protective Services or other related human services field may substitute for each year of required education.

Pay

The salary indicated represents a base pay rate. If the individual selected or the position is eligible for a pay differential (e.g., shift, security, or years of service), it will be added to the total compensation in your paycheck. A pay differential does not raise your base pay.
