Overview

The Adult Palliative Care Counselor provides counseling, critical psycho-social support to palliative care patients through the palliative Care Service consult team. Responsibilities include the provision of psychological services to patients and their family affected by chronic and/or life-limiting conditions, conducting appropriate assessments of patient and family mental health needs, and providing consultation to healthcare professionals regarding the impact of psycho-social factors on patients' illness.

Qualifications

  • Education: Master’s degree
  • Experience: 3 years’ related work experience in social work or counseling
  • Licensure/Certification: IDFPR (Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation) issued Social Worker License OR IDFPR issued Clinical Soc Worker License OR IDFPR issued Prof Counselor License OR IDFPR issued Clinical Counselor License
  • PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Prof Counselor License OR Clinical Counselor License
