Adult Outpatient Phlebotomy - First Shift

About the role

Perform technical procedures in adult outpatient phlebotomy, specimen collection, processing, and evaluation to support diagnosis and treatment.

Responsibilities

• Collect and manage patient specimens.
• Prepare tests including cytogenetics and Point-of-Care Testing.
• Ensure proper specimen labeling and documentation.
• Maintain specimen integrity.
• Communicate professionally with patients and medical staff.
• Verify specimen labels.
• Utilize hospital information systems.
• Maintain laboratory safety, quality control, and inventory management.
• Assist with office tasks and specimen storage as needed.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Completion of phlebotomy training or equivalent experience.
• At least 2 years of relevant experience or certification as a Phlebotomist.
• Knowledge of phlebotomy techniques, specimen processing, and basic medical terminology.
• Strong communication skills and computer proficiency.
• Certification from recognized agencies preferred.
• Basic Life Support certification is a plus.
