Adult Literacy Volunteer Tutor Training

About the role

Become a tutor at the Literacy Council of Benton County. You only need to know English to become a tutor! Literacy Council of Benton County has a long list of students waiting for tutors! We provide free materials and certified training to our tutors.

Responsibilities

• Provide one-on-one tutoring sessions
• Adapt teaching methods to meet individual student needs
• Use provided literacy materials
• Attend orientation and ongoing training

Requirements

• Must be 18 years or older
• Must have a GED or High School Diploma
• Must be able to commit to a few hours per week

• Strong communication skills
• Patience and empathy
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
