About the Role

Chamberlain College of Nursing is seeking Part-Time Clinical Instructors to join our faculty and support students in the Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) program, specifically in the Adult Health (Medical-Surgical) Nursing specialty. This course focuses on the needs of adult patients and their families, emphasizing health promotion and management of acute and chronic conditions. The nursing process is applied to discuss health alterations affecting selected life processes, while students continue developing professional skills as part of the healthcare team.

Proof of COVID-19 vaccination may be required to teach at certain clinical partner sites.

Responsibilities

  • Implement the College’s philosophy, curriculum, program outcomes, and course objectives through clinical teaching and service to the College, community, health system, and profession.
  • Assume responsibility for all autonomous aspects of individual teaching assignments.
  • Plan clinical experiences and provide direct supervision and evaluation of nursing students delivering care to individuals or groups.
  • Evaluate and document student performance based on course objectives, providing feedback and remediation as needed.
  • Maintain current knowledge of agency/clinical policies, procedures, and expectations with assistance from clinical personnel.
  • Develop and post written clinical assignments tailored to students’ knowledge base, skill competency, and learning needs.
  • Grade homework, quizzes, tests, lab assignments, clinical paperwork, and other written work in a timely manner.
  • May teach didactic course content under the supervision of a course coordinator.
  • Keep the course coordinator informed of all student and agency issues and concerns.
  • Report to the dean or assistant dean, with additional oversight provided by a course coordinator.

Requirements

  • A master’s or doctoral degree in Nursing from a regionally accredited college or university.
  • An unencumbered professional nursing license.
  • At least two years of professional experience within the last five years in the area of instruction as a registered nurse.
  • Proof of COVID-19 vaccination may be required for teaching at certain clinical partner sites.
  • Teaching or precepting experience is preferred but not required.

Pay

The expected compensation rate for this position is between $1,120 per assignment to $7,245 per assignment, depending on the candidate’s education, experience, and other job-related factors such as the type of course taught, geographic location, and market conditions.
