Adult Health Visiting Professor

We operate on a hybrid schedule with four in-office days per week (Monday–Thursday).

About the Role

Chamberlain College of Nursing is seeking Part-Time Clinical Instructors to support students in the Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) program, specifically in the Adult Health (Medical-Surgical) Nursing specialty. This course focuses on the needs of adult patients and their families regarding health promotion and management of acute and chronic conditions. Instructors will help students develop professional skills as part of the healthcare team.

Proof of COVID-19 vaccination may be required to teach at certain clinical partner sites.

Responsibilities

• Implement the College’s philosophy, curriculum, program outcomes, and course objectives through clinical teaching and service.
• Assume responsibility for all autonomous aspects of individual teaching assignments.
• Plan clinical experiences and provide direct supervision and evaluation of nursing students delivering care.
• Evaluate and document student performance based on course objectives, providing feedback and remediation as needed.
• Maintain current knowledge of agency/clinical policies, procedures, and expectations with assistance from agency personnel.
• Develop and post written clinical assignments tailored to students’ knowledge, skill competency, and learning needs.
• Grade homework, quizzes, tests, lab assignments, clinical paperwork, and other written work in a timely manner.
• May teach didactic course content under the supervision of a course coordinator.
• Keep the course coordinator informed of student and agency issues.
• Report to the dean or assistant dean, with direct oversight provided by a course coordinator.

Requirements

• A master’s or doctoral degree in Nursing from a regionally accredited college or university.
• An unencumbered professional nursing license.
• At least two years of professional experience within the last five years in the area of instruction as a registered nurse.
• Proof of COVID-19 vaccination may be required for teaching at certain clinical partner sites.
• Teaching or precepting experience is preferred but not required.

Pay

The expected compensation rate for this position is between $1,120 per assignment to $7,245 per assignment, depending on the candidate’s education and experience. Actual pay may be adjusted based on factors such as course type, experience, geographic location, licensure, market conditions, and departmental budgets.
