Adult Emergency Department Registered Nurse Education Specialist

Education

Bachelor’s degree in nursing required with a commitment to obtain a Master’s degree in 5 years.

Experience

• At least four (4) years' experience in Nursing with two (2) years concurrent experience applying educational concepts, including program planning and evaluation.

Skills

• Knowledge of nursing and adult educational theories to assess, plan, implement and evaluate quality educational programs.
• Analytic skills necessary to develop and evaluate educational programs and assess learning needs of staff.

Physical Requirements

Able to perform the physical requirements of the position, which may include activities related to patient care.

Working Conditions

Works alternatively in classroom, office or patient care areas with little exposure to excessive noise, dust or temperature.

Education and Training

• Licensure: Current, unencumbered Maryland State license as a Registered Nurse.
• Certification as C.P.R. instructor by American Heart Association preferred.
• Completion of "Healthcare Provider" CPR course, every (2) years.
• Obtain certification as a professional development specialist within 4 years of hire.

Consultation

• Synthesizes data and information, while incorporating conceptual or theoretical frameworks when providing consultation.
• Establishes formal and informal consultative relationships that may lead to professional development or mentorship opportunities.
• Develops recommendations and strategies to address problems and complex issues.

Committees

• Participates in standing committees.
• Development of Evidence-Based Clinical Policies & Procedures.

Pay

Pay Range: $83,286.94 - $138,584.21
