Adult Education- Nursing Assistant Instructor -ESOL

About the Role

The Adult Learning Institute (ALI) is seeking an experienced instructor to lead a comprehensive training course for individuals interested in becoming a Nursing Assistant. This is a part-time, evening position.

Responsibilities

• Teach a course curriculum as prescribed by the NY State Health Department and the NY State Education Department to prepare students for Nursing Assistant certification.
• Provide both classroom instruction and in-lab clinical experiences.
• Track student attendance and hours (clinical and theory).
• Proctor tests and collaborate with other teachers/staff in the Health Occupations Academy at ALI.
• Coordinate curriculum, conduct practical training, and perform competency evaluations.
• Oversee clinical rotations at a contracted local nursing home.

This is a team-teaching opportunity for a grant-funded program serving students whose native language is not English (ESOL). An ESOL instructor will be present.

Requirements

• Must be a Registered Nurse with at least two years' experience in a nursing home setting.
• Prior experience must include supervision and instruction of Nurse Assistants.

Schedule

Evening class, three evenings per week from 5:30–9:30 PM.

Pay

$45 per hour.
