Job Description

Plan, organize, and provide instruction in core skills in GED content areas: math, social studies, science, and language arts. Facilitate computer-based instruction in English for Speakers of other Languages (ESL). Integrate employability skills including computer skills into instruction. Help students develop career pathway goals and plans. Evaluate student learning and develop instructional strategies and individualized learning plans to meet learning goals. Administer pre and post assessments. Maintain complete and accurate records.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Plan, organize, and provide instruction in core skills in GED content areas: math, social studies, science, and language arts.
• Facilitate computer-based instruction in English for Speakers of other Languages (ESL).
• Integrate employability skills including computer skills into instruction.
• Help students develop career pathway goals and plans.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree and adult teaching experience required.
• Outstanding personal and interpersonal communication skills.
• Excellent organizational skills.
• The ability to keep accurate records.
• The ability to incorporate current technology into the classroom environment.
• The ability to work with a diversity of individuals and groups.
• Excellent problem solving skills to analyze issues and create action plans.
• The ability to adapt to changing work priorities.
• The ability to establish and maintain constructive relationships.

Additional Considerations

• Relevant graduate degree or ESL certificate, experience working with adults.
