About the role
The position serves as a Physician Assistant in the Department of Internal Medicine at Wake Forest Health Network. This role is full-time with benefits eligibility.
Responsibilities
- Affords assessments, diagnoses, and treatment plans based on age, acuity, and clinical condition.
- Orders, performs, and interprets diagnostic studies and prescribes pharmacological and non-pharmacological interventions and therapies.
- Provides health promotion, disease prevention, and disease management counseling and education to patients and families.
- Maintains an interdisciplinary team and coordinates care with other healthcare providers.
- Escalates urgent or specialized care needs as necessary.
- Maintains accurate, complete, and timely documentation in the electronic medical record.
- Ensures compliance with coding and billing practices.
- Facilitates coordination of care among healthcare team members and external agencies.
- Performs office or hospital procedures within the scope of practice and granted privileges.
Requirements
- Active PA license in the state(s) of practice.
- National board certification from the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants.
- Active DEA registration prior to hire.
- If practicing in Illinois, active Illinois Controlled Substance License prior to hire.
- Active BLS and/or ACLS, PALS, NRP certifications as required by clinical practice.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Physician Assistant.
- No prior experience required.

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions
Must be able to stand, walk, bend, stoop, and twist continuously throughout the workday. Must have functional speech, vision, touch, and hearing. Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs from floor to waist, lift up to 20 lbs over the head, carry up to 40 lbs a reasonable distance, and operate all necessary equipment to perform the job.
Pay
$51.05 - $76.60 per hour, commensurate with experience.
Schedule
Monday through Thursday: 8am - 5pm, Friday: 8am - 1pm.
