The Advertising team is building a leading ads business to position Netflix as a premier platform for advertisers and drive revenue growth.

About the role

We’re hiring an Ads Revenue Accountant to partner with multiple cross-functional teams to support the scale and evolution of our ads business across pricing, incentives, order management, contract support, and advertiser/agency partnerships. This individual will solve complex revenue recognition and operational issues with groups such as Sales Ops, Ad Ops, Sales, Infrastructure Engineering, and Credit and Collections. You will be based in the US but will work cross-functionally across many time zones with our US and international offices.

Responsibilities

  • Own accuracy and completeness of key Ads revenue accounting areas across Direct IO (direct insertion orders), Live, and Brand Partnerships/Sponsorships.
  • Perform month- and quarter-end close activities, including accruals, reconciliations, reporting, customer remediation (makegoods, credit memos, re-bills), and other close-related procedures.
  • Serve as an invoicing and billing specialist responsible for timely and accurate invoice review, distribution, and revision.
  • Execute manual billing processes for revenue streams or product features not yet supported by automated billing systems.
  • Partner cross-functionally (Legal, Sales, Sales Ops, Finance, Tax) to provide revenue recognition, invoicing, and accounting guidance.
  • Support implementation and testing of ads finance and billing infrastructure.
  • Partner with Credit, Collections, and Disputes to resolve issues and help ensure timely payment.
  • Aid in the execution of AR Aging and Reserve policies.
  • Drive process improvements across Sales Ops, Engineering, Pricing, and our enterprise resource planning (ERP) platform (Workday).

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 5 years of accounting experience.
  • Prior experience working at an advertising technology, media company, and/or Ad Agency/HoldCo is encouraged.
  • Proven project management experience and demonstrated ability to drive process improvements.
  • Experience with CRM and/or OMS.

Bonus Experience

  • Experience with Workday Financials or other cloud-based ERP systems.
  • Prior experience with revenue recognition, invoicing, billing, cash collection, or cash application workflows.

Pay

The range for this role is $140,000.00 - $210,000.00. Netflix’s compensation structure consists solely of an annual salary; we do not have bonuses. You choose each year how much of your compensation you want in salary versus stock options. Compensation is determined by market indicators and your specific job family, background, skills, and experience.
