About the role

The Children’s Network of Hillsborough is committed to protecting children and preserving families through various initiatives. This position focuses on promoting the adoption program in the community, developing recruitment strategies, and supporting families through the adoption process.

Responsibilities

  • Support recruitment efforts including Heart Gallery, National Adoption Month, and match events
  • Analyze demographic data and plan community awareness events
  • Develop child-specific recruitment plans for waiting children
  • Complete Adoption Information pages for each child within 5 business days of assignment
  • Participate in and deliver pre-service training for families interested in adopting children with needs characteristic of CNHC's population
  • Document recruitment efforts in the case record at least once every 30 days
  • Complete timely adoption home studies for families expressing interest in adopting special needs children
  • Ensure FSFN is updated with 2 business days to reflect any changes reported by the potential adoptive family
  • Participate in match staffings and assess children and family needs
  • Monitor and track inquiries from approved adoptive families
  • Update Child Welfare Case Manager and other stakeholders of adoption-related activity
  • Display understanding of and sensitivity to service population’s cultural and socioeconomic characteristics
  • Produce monthly Explore Adoption Report and submit for approval/review
  • Ensure medical records are requested as required/referenced in FAC 65 c16 within 1 week of assignment
  • Complete Child Studies within 30 days of receipt of case assignment
  • Gather documents for disclosure packets and facilitate disclosures in person
  • Facilitate team meetings during the transition period to ensure successful adoptions
  • Explore all potential adoption resources and attend court hearings as needed
  • Conduct Adoption Information Sessions for families interested in adoption
  • Ensure Recruitment Home Studies are completed for families moving forward in the adoptive process after completing Trauma Informed Parenting (Pride or Equivalent)
  • Work within standard business hours of 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday, with occasional evening and weekend work as needed

Qualifications

  • Ability to perform recruitment and training tasks effectively
  • Understanding of and sensitivity to cultural and socioeconomic characteristics of the service population
  • Knowledge of Florida Administrative Code (FAC) 65 c16
  • Ability to adhere to data collection and reporting requirements
  • Proficiency in using FSFN/CCWIS systems
  • Experience with trauma-informed parenting and adoption processes
