ADON - LPN FT

Essential Duties

• Aids the Director of Nursing in planning, developing, and supervising nursing staff activities.
• Participates in the development and implementation of nursing services, objectives, policies, and procedures.
• Collaborates with the Director of Nursing to recruit, hire, and train nursing staff.
• Assists the Director of Nursing with employee appraisals and problem resolution, including disciplinary actions.
• Serves as backup for the Director of Nursing, RN, and LVN staff.
• Might be required to provide direct resident care as needed.
• Oversees clinical operations, including making daily rounds and monitoring resident conditions.
• Ensures resident safety and respects residents' treatment.
• Liaises between residents, family members, and physicians.
• Attends staff meetings and conducts them if the Director of Nursing is unavailable.
• Provides reports and recommendations to the Director of Nursing concerning nursing services operations.
• Aids the Director of Nursing in designing, implementing, and evaluating nursing systems that ensure consistent care delivery and resident rights.
• Supports the Director of Nursing in conducting ongoing in-services for the nursing staff.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited school of nursing with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing preferred.
• Must be in good standing with the State Board of Nursing and maintain all required continuing education/licensing requirements.
• At least 3-5 years of nurse management experience, preferably in a long-term care facility.

Supervisory Requirements

• Assists with the overall supervision and management of the nursing staff.

Physical Demands

• Occasionally lifts and/or moves up to 25 pounds.
• Prolonged use of a desk top or laptop computer.
• Regularly sits, stands, walks, talks, reads, hears.
• Frequent use of office-related equipment such as copier/scanner/fax, telephone, calculator.

Work Environment

• The noise level in the work environment is usually low to moderate.
