Adolescent Health at HealthReach Community Health Center

Elective Details

To provide the GME learner with clinical experience with the adolescent patient population, both in primary and psychiatric care, within a school-based health center (SBHC) in a rural community setting.

Duration

Duration for Elective: 2 or 4 weeks

Activities

• Participate in group COPE (creating opportunities for personal empowerment, a CBT based program) sessions
• Psychiatric intake, assessment, and medication management of adolescents
• Exposure to communication and collaboration with district staff (social workers, guidance, alternative education program, school nurses) and with the patients PCP, DHHS and guardians

Location

HealthReach Community Health Centers does not offer learner housing. Interested residents may seek reimbursement for housing expenses through the MERGE Collaborative.
